Band Members' Biographies

Jazz Musette** is a South Sound six-piece musical combo, made up of Lorraine Hart, Tom Hume II, Tom Hume III, Mark Runions, Ed Seymore and Anna Hart. Tom, Mark, Anna and Lorraine live on the southern end of the Key Peninsula -- Ed and Tommy live in the Tacoma area. Every Thursday for years our band has gathered in Home on the Key Peninsula to make music, experiment and explore in a safe, supportive environment.
Our prime objective is music, friendship...and more music. Ed and Tom II have played together since the seventies. Mark came in the early nineties, followed by Lorraine in the late nineties and Tom III and Anna this century. We like to participate in the South Sound community, often playing for functions put on by the Two Waters Arts Alliance both at the Art Barn and the Key Civic Center. The band has played at The Longbranch Dock (a half mile down the Key Pen. Highway from The Longbranch Improvement Club, where we've also performed) and the Livable Community Fair (also at the Key Civic Center). We've done music projects in Seattle, a bit of recording in Milton -- and have lent our services at a benefit for Lyme disease in Spanaway. Our faithful fans call us the South Sound's best kept secret!
Musette performs an eclectic mix of jazz and blues standards, re-configured pop and original material ~ rendered at enjoyable listening volume levels, be the venue outside, a hall, club, or house. It's our friendship and true savoring of music that wraps the band and audiences of almost any age in Jazz Musette Magic.
**The primary definition of Musette is a type of Parisian street music...the band chose the secondary meaning~a tote-bag, as in jazz bag, to indicate the variety of music they carry.
